Drive to Opossum Bay

Woke up to a cloudy, cold day, there's been rain overnight and the roads were a bit wet; in the end we had no wind or rain today so had another very good day on the island.

We decided to do a bit of a road trip down the South Arm Peninsula after doing very little research and just playing it by ear.  First stop was the Goats Bluff Lookout where there was a small lookout looking out and down on rocky cliffs and a calm sea.  We continued through the town of South Arm and on to Opossum Bay where the road came to an end.  Looking for a coffee shop and nearly had a mutiny on my hands before I pulled to the side of the road to search for a decent coffee shop and as luck would have it, I just happened to stop outside the best coffee shop (and the only one) on the peninsula - Touch of Mo Coffee!!  Crisis diverted!!

Drove home zigzagging across the peninsula to have a good look around, noticed lots of roadkill on the side of the road and have decided to not go out after dark.  Got back to the unit and walked down to the dock area and had a delicious late lunch at the Customs House Hotel and Restaurant.  Wandered back to the motel, got some groceries for our trip to the wilderness tomorrow, had a wander around the local area of Battery Point.  By then it was almost beer time.  Another productive day!!

Views from Goats Bluff Lookout - so calm!!

South Arm Beach - forgot to bring our swimmers, have to remember for next time!!

Salamanca Stores

I took too many photos of houses in Battery Point, sorry, you can skip all these and just log out now??
Battery Point is the historic centre of Hobart and I imagine you wouldn't be able to replace a nail in the roof without approval from at least half a dozen government agencies.

  2. The weather hasn't been too bad - no rain which is the main thing.
